This was one of the four hardest minutes I’ve ever had to get through.

When the flower delivery service, Teleflora, promised “Ryan’s Unforgettable Mother’s Day Delivery,” they seriously meant it.

I can’t help but recall how deeply moved this mom was when her kids new exactly what to get her for Mother’s Day.

Ryan is a Navy Commander who hasn’t seen his mom in two whole years. The last time they were together, his mother drove two hours out of the way just to meet him at the airport during a layover. In the emotional video below, Ryan thanks his mom for sacrificing her career as an athlete to have him, for raising him as a single mom, and for instilling him with wonderful values that he passed on to his children.

The video message delivered to his mom’s door by Teleflora has Mom in tears — it even has me in tears!

I can’t tell you how many times I wish I could have told my mom that I loved her, that I appreciate all of her sacrifices (and there were many), and that there is no one else on the planet I’d rather have as mom, but instead I said nothing.

This Mother’s Day, I hope that I can convey words even a fraction as beautiful to my mom.
