At the age of four, Kaitlyn Maher took the stage on America’s Got Talent and faced a crowd of thousands. The toddler didn’t shake or tremble, she didn’t cry, and she composed herself better than some adult contestants do. She politely answered the judges’ questions before beginning her performance. “My favorite thing to do is sing,” Kaitlyn remarked. Her supportive parents stood off to the side as their eldest daughter performed a rendition of James Ingram’s “Somewhere Out There.”
It’s clear that the crowd is infatuated with this sweet girl, as the camera pans across the crowd catching audience members with their mouths agape. When her audition is over, an applause erupts throughout the place and the smile on Kaitlyn’s face says it all.
Now an 8-year-old, Kaitlyn has continued to win the hearts of Americans everywhere. In 2008, she performed at the White House in front of President George W. Bush. She’s performed in front of Michelle Obama and sang the national anthem at a Washington Nationals baseball game.
The young girl is clearly going places, and in the video below you’ll see the start of it all. She’s the youngest person ever to earn a top 10 spot on America’s Got Talent. What did you think of Kaitlyn’s performance? Drop us a comment below and share this video with your friends.[video_player]
