Here’s a blast from the past that’s guaranteed to get your fire started. When it comes to kids performing on TV talent shows, to me there are two very different types.
Some kids, like this little girl, were born with real, raw talent and caught the entertaining bug from listening to singers on the radio like Beyoncé, Katy Perry, and Alicia Keys. Then, there are the kids who I like to call “old souls.” While everyone has a different definition of what they think it means to be an old soul, to me it’s all about the music — and the kid in this next video definitely feels like he could have fit right in back in the early days of rock ‘n’ roll. A 14-year-old boy named Tilman completely shocked the judges and got the audience on their feet on The Voice: Kids in Germany when he sat down at his piano and channelled Jerry Lee Lewis’ iconic energy for “Great Balls of Fire.”
Back in the day, if Elvis Presley was The King, Lewis was known as “The Killer” and rock ‘n’ roll’s “first great wild man” and if you’ve ever seen him perform, you know exactly why. There’s no denying that Tilman completely nailed this amazing performance. With all the judges up and dancing, if Jerry Lee Lewis was there, he would definitely be hitting that buzzer in no time.
