They say dogs are a man’s best friend, but after watching this video, we’re sure they meant to say boys too. The moment this dog’s human brother leaves the car for school, he starts to whine uncontrollably. This is proof that dogs really do care about us and don’t want to see us leave!

According to Ceasar’s Way, the website ran by famous dog trainer Ceasar Milan, the reason dogs whine when you leave them can vary. He explains that sometimes, the dog whines and cries because they’re overstimulated and don’t know how to express their emotions. However, most of the time that type of behavior is indicative of separation anxiety. While it’s hard to imagine our furry family members fretting over our absence, it’s a very real problem! Dogs generally pick up on our own behavior as fodder for this anxiety and there are certain things we can do to help ease their discomfort. Instead of making a big deal about leaving, simply wish your pupper well and exit the space. Ceasar says that making a big fuss can do more harm than good – so it’s best to keep things simple.

While it’s unclear whether or not this sweet dog suffers from separation anxiety, it is obvious that he loves his human boy very much. As soon as it becomes clear he’s about to leave the car, the dog begins to whine. He doesn’t want his buddy to leave for an entire eight hours!
