Little Boy Surprises NICU Nurse Who Saved Him As A Baby

Many neonatal nurses work in Neonatal Intensive Care Units (NICU), focusing their careers and livelihoods on providing care for at-risk newborn babies. NICU nurses play a critical role in the lives of infants who were born prematurely, or are suffering from health problems such as birth defects, infections, or heart deformities.

In the touching video below, a couple returns to the Royal Alexandra Hospital to thank the NICU nurse who provided them extraordinary support five years ago when their first child, Connor, was born after only 27 weeks gestation.

Baby Connor had an emergency delivery while his mother, Sarah, fought to stay alive. Both mother and child survived, but had it not been for Nurse Gwenn, things could have taken a tragic turn. Connor’s first 65 days of life were spent in the hospital, during which time Nurse Gwenn tended to him in unbelievable ways. She went above and beyond, going so far as to sew tiny outfits to fit the tiny, two-pound boy.

Flash forward a few years later when Connor is a happy, healthy four-year-old. Nurse Gwenn thinks she’s being called in to a meeting, but little does she know a tear-jerking surprise is waiting on the projector screen, and an even bigger surprise is standing just outside the door. I won’t give it away — you must see this for yourself. Oh, and keep your tissues close for this one.

It truly takes an incredible person to become a nurse. If you agree, please SHARE this touching video with your friends on Facebook!
