Cans must be one of the most ubiquitous objects in the Western world. While Coors “pioneered the use of aluminum cans in 1959,” as noted by The Aluminum Association, the crown of the can kingdom arguably belongs to none other than Coca-Cola.

When Coca-Cola began selling their beverage in cans, which their website says was just a year’s time after Coors’ introduction of the container to their product line, it couldn’t have been long before people started repurposing the aluminum for fun, personal projects.

oday, there are thousands of tutorials online showing how people can reuse cans in creative ways — impressively, many of them call specifically for Coke cans, as evidenced by this board on Pinterest.

The Coke can is indisputably a huge part of Coca-Cola’s history, and the craft project below combines this aspect of their history with another: the Coca-Cola “lorry,” as DaveHax refers to it.

The Coca-Cola Christmas Truck dates back to one of the company’s 1995 ad campaigns, as they state on their website. They go on to describe the ad:

“In the commercial, three 18-wheel ‘props’ were crafted into a seemingly endless caravan of Coke trucks, passing through hillsides, valleys and towns. Each 40-ft., 2-ton ‘light brite’ on wheels featured more than 30,000 bulbs. … At the end of the spot, the Santa on the back of the final truck raises his bottle of Coca‑Cola in a holiday toast.”
