It’s almost Christmas time and you know what that means!
It’s time for the annual rummage through your garage for boxes marked, “Decorations.” Every year, however, when we finally crack open those dusty cardboard boxes full of holiday cheer, we realize there are a few areas upon which we need to improve.
Perhaps you’re still holding on to the outdated stockings from a previous marriage, or realize only a third of your lights actually illuminate. That’s when you make the excited trip to the store, only to have your hopes of saving money dashed as soon as you look at the outrageous price tags attached to the items you need.
The truth of the matter is that Christmas decorations are expensive.
That’s where this brilliant woman comes in: AJ Harmon, of ‘AJ’s Craft Room,’ has come up with a genius way to make elegant Christmas wreaths for only a few dollars. Needless to say, when we here at SFG saw this bit of holiday ingenuity, we couldn’t wait to share it with you.
It also got us thinking, how much do people normally spend around this time of year?
According to InfoWars.com, “…what Americans plan to spend on Christmas this year is greater than the yearly GDP of the entire nation of Sweden.” That alone is frighteningly impressive. To be more specific, that very same website reports that we, as a nation, will spend somewhere in the neighborhood of $600 billion this holiday season.
InfoWars.com breaks down the average holiday pricing like this:
Christmas Tree: $41.50
Cards And Postage: $32.43
Floral Arrangements: $22.61
Food And Candy: $95.04
Seeing as how every last cent counts during the holiday season, it only seems smart to budget wherever you can. So, why not start with the always-necessary decorations? Thank goodness we saw this video, or we might be spending Christmas in the “poor house” this year.
As mentioned before, we loved this video, but we’d really like to know how you felt about it. Please share your thoughts and feelings with us in the comments below.
