A 10-year-old boy from Grand Blanc, MI loved to wear Army t-shirts and fatigues to school. The familiar design was his way of honoring his father, Staff Sgt. Luis Bratic, who he hadn’t seen in 11 months.

At Mason Elementary’s End of Year celebration, Christopher sang with his classmates before standing up to proudly lead the class in the Pledge of Allegiance. Up until this day, he’d been gushing to his classmates and teachers about his brave dad, and how Sgt. Bratic was coming home from Afghanistan in just a few more weeks. In the meantime, the two best friends kept in touch via social media and chatted on Skype whenever they could.

Just when Christopher begins the Pledge, he notices a familiar face peek out from behind the American flag, and out from behind the curtain. Christopher never saw it coming, and Dad could hardly hold back the tears.

Thank God the cameras were rolling, because this is a moment you do not want to miss. Sgt. Bratic called it “the best thing in the world.”

It’s impossible not to smile about this! Please SHARE the joy with all of your friends on Facebook!
