There are many people who have mixed emotions when it comes to onions. Some people avoid them for fear of lingering onion breath. Others refuse to cook with them because of the natural, burning tears they tend to bring out.

Because this recipe requires that you cook the onions, the flavor goes from sharp and almost spicy, to sweet and tangy, so you won’t need to worry about finding a piece of gum immediately afterwards.
This recipe also requires you to only make a few quick cuts to the tops of each onion, lessening your time spent chopping and cutting and fighting off tears, like another onion video showed us how to do with one simple trick.
Using just some common household items, which you likely already have in your house (extra virgin olive oil, balsamic vinegar, salt and pepper), and following a few quick and easy steps, you can cook up something totally different and unexpected for your next dinner party, barbecue, or potluck, turning a plain old onion into a gorgeous (and delicious!) appetizer or side dish that will wow all your guests.
