Derik Hodgson has lived in an isolated cabin deep in Ontario for years, but he hasn’t been alone in more than a decade. He’s been kept company by Badger, a dog that Derik rescued as a puppy after it had been abandoned in the woods.
Badger had repaid him for the rescue in many ways throughout the years, but it wasn’t until one eventful day that he proved he was worth that rescue and then some. Derik fell and broke his leg, and the only one there to help him was Badger. It’s because of Badger’s actions that day that he’s an inductee for Purina’s Animal Hall of Fame, class of 2015. You’ll have to watch the video below to get the details of Badger’s story, but it’s worth the watch.
