It is hard for children with learning disabilities to grasp new skills and fundamental parts of life, such as walking and talking. It can be a tough journey for the whole family, but it’s worth it when you can see an improvement.

Mother of 5 children, Amanda Grey, understands exactly this since her youngest son Bo, who is 25 months old has down syndrome.

At this little age, toddlers can at least be able to speak approximately 50 words, but Bo can only spell 12. It is necessary to try different methods to help your child to learn and speak more words, and it turns out that the best one for Bo is music.

All words Bo learnt is thanks to music and his big sister, Lydia, who helps him singing the words.

Recently, Amanda posted a video on Facebook and it’s melting everyone’s hearts. the clip shows Lydia playing guitar and singing with her baby brother Bo. The song played is ‘You are my sunshine’ by Johnny Cash. Lydia helps her brother by giving him the chance to finish every line of the lyrics and the outcome is too adorable to miss:

My daughter Lydia was watching Bo while I was in the shower. Came out to this. If she didn’t have a guitar I don’t know if she would know how to babysit him. This is her go to. It’s proof that music therapy works.

Baby Bo don’t hesitate to make an effort to complete the words of the popular song, as he moves along to his sister’s guitar. He has clearly a passion for music as he enjoys listening to his sister playing her guitar, and it makes sense considering their father is a musician; music is in their blood.

The video shared on ‘Love What Matters’ and within 17 hours the video had amassed over 150,000 shares and over 175,000 likes. It seems that a lot of people appreciate the beautiful bond that Lydia and Bo share as she patiently aids her baby brother in his learning.

Watch the video for yourself to see the touching scene – my heart felt like it might burst watching this!
