Americans have a growing problem with obesity. Often times, the reason behind the weight gain has more to do with emotional issues, rather than just the food itself. Rachel Paul had been a cheerleader in college but after becoming addicted to food her self worth began to plummet as her weight tipped the scales. She said her problems with food started as a teenager, after a boyfriend cheated on her.
After college, Rachel got a job as a dance instructor, and the problems with her weight started to get worse. She soon found herself in a health predicament because of her piled on weight. The fast food drive thru and pizza delivery were her favorite comfort foods – however, Rachel was quite disgusted with the 300 pound body that she saw in the mirror, so she enlisted the help of a reality TV show to get her life back on track.
