There was something special about Helen and Kenneth Felumlee. In 1941, they began dating. Only three years later, they eloped and quickly had their first child. This was a couple that was truly in love.
Helen and Kenneth were married for 70 years, never spending a night apart. Even when they had to take a ferry one night and could sleep in bunk beds in the same room, they chose to share the bottom bunk rather than stay apart. When their health began to fail, they stayed strong for each other. On Saturday, April 12th, Helen quietly passed away. The next morning, Kenneth followed.

One of their children, Linda Cody, knew that they would pass on together. “We knew when one went, the other was going to go. […] We wanted them to go together, and they did.” Both Helen and Kenneth died surrounded by those they loved, after living a long life with the person they cherished. That’s something most people only dream of doing.
